Switzerland, Geneva – Machining centers open up new application horizons for manufacturers

Higher speed, effective machine control, superb Spindle protection, and modern chip management are among the success-enabling advantages of GF Machining Solutions’ new machining center Mikron MILL P 800 U five-axis simultaneous machining center range. International Solution Days, to be hosted by GF Machining Solutions April 24–28 at its Losone, Switzerland sites, was the place to get a close-up look at the Mikron MILL P 800 U and how it can open new application horizons.

High flexible parts production with the machining center Mikron MILL P 800 U family

The successor to the very successful Mikron HPM 800 U line, the Mikron MILL P 800 U range of solutions guarantees high precision in heavy-duty production 365 days per year, making it especially well suited to manufacturers in mold and die, general mechanics, and aerospace and power generation.

Ensuring highly flexible parts production, reliable, efficient unmanned third shift machining, best surface finish on light or heavy parts, and one-setup machining from start to finish, the range is available in three variants: the Mikron MILL P 800 U, the Mikron MILL P 800 U ST (simultaneous turn), and Mikron MILL P 800 U D (high dynamics).

The variant Mikron MILL P 800 U D

For example, the high-dynamic Mikron MILL P 800 U D variant brings a variety of benefits to mold and die makers: by choosing a 36,000 min/-1 HSK-E50 OptiCool Spindle and 1.7 g acceleration compared to the standard 1 g acceleration; process safety while using tools as small as 0.2 mm; and ability to deliver surface quality of Ra 0.09 µm.

The Mikron MILL P 800 U ST

In general mechanics applications, the Mikron MILL P 800 U ST variant enables turning operations, a powerful, universal 20,000 min/-1 Spindle, and Automation for parts up to 800 mm in diameter. The Mikron MILL P 800 U machines are ideal for manufacturers in aeronautics and power generation as well, thanks to superb stability for working with tensile materials, including the latest titanium alloys. In addition, the gantry concept provides best stiffness and ensures accuracy across the full work table.

Adding value to the machine range, the newest available Heidenhain TNC 640 and Siemens 840D sl controls ensure process safety, longer tool lifetime, and process optimization.

GF Machining Solutions’ Mikron MILL P 800 U range of five-axis high-performance Milling solutions guarantees high precision in heavy-duty production across a wide range of industrial segments, including mold and die, general mechanics, and aerospace and power generation.

Intelligen Spindle Monitoring (ISM) for processes optimization

Process optimization is at the Mikron MILL P 800 U user’s fingertips with GF Machining Solutions’ new Intelligent Spindle Monitoring (ISM). Manufacturers can save on Tooling costs, extend the machine lifetime, increase part quality, and reduce machining time, with ISM displaying the Milling process-related vibrations in X, Y and Z direction. This provides the machine operator with the essential information for process optimization.

The solutions in the Mikron MILL P 800 U range are rConnect ready, so manufacturers can choose the GF Machining Solutions digital services that best fit their needs and begin profiting from higher machine availability and lifetime as well as extended flexibility and productivity.

From Live Remote Assistance to ensure maximum machine uptime via process improvement modules to predictive maintenance and monitoring, rConnect keeps users connected at any time, wherever they are in the world.
